Join Cherokee artist Laura Walkingstick for a two-hour, hands-on cornhusk doll making workshop that brings together art, culture, storytelling, creativity, and community.

Participants will learn the basic techniques of creating a traditional-style cornhusk doll while exploring the history and stories connected to this art form. Throughout the workshop, participants are encouraged to slow down, create with intention, and add their own personality and creative touches to their doll.

All materials are provided, and each participant will create a one-of-a-kind cornhusk doll to take home as a personal keepsake and reminder of their experience.

This workshop is designed for ages 14 and up. No previous art or doll-making experience is necessary.

More than simply a craft class, this workshop offers a welcoming and meaningful creative experience that encourages participants to connect through art, culture, storytelling, and the tradition of making something by hand. 

After you’ve made your cornhusk doll, stay for Corn Day, a celebration of all things corn, from 1pm to 6pm.
