Briar Rose Farm 1990-2014
2019 - Where we started…
We purchased this beautiful farm in August 2019 from Tom Hare and Judie Hansen, who affectionately named it Briar Rose Farm after the invasive multi-flora rose that grows prolifically here. The land had been neglected for six years, but we saw its potential and decided to revive it with a vision of creating a space for artistic expression, community gathering, and a deep connection with nature.
In Phase 1 of our journey, we rolled up our sleeves and began the transformation. We cleared out the accumulation of items collected by Tom, who was a self-proclaimed "picker." Overgrown brush was tamed, cabins and barns were restored, pastures were re-fenced, and hidden trails were uncovered. It was an immense undertaking that took us nearly two years to complete. Understanding the lay of the land and working with the natural water flow became essential in our mission to create a harmonious and sustainable space.
